Steps to Cancel Confirm Railway Ticket

1] Go to the IRCTC website.

2] Enter the PNR, Train Number, and Captcha

3] Select the checkbox to confirm that you accept rules.

4] After you click on submit, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number which was given at the time of booking. Enter that OTP and again click on submit.

5] After the OTP is verified, PNR details will be displayed.

6] Verify the details and click “Cancel Ticket”. Refund amount will be displayed.

7] You will get an SMS with PNR and refund details.

8] Go to your nearest PRS counter and collect your refund amount.

Important Rules To Remember

1] Refund of fare after deduction of charges on cancellation of the ticket can be collected at any PRS counter of Indian Railways before 4 hours of scheduled departure of the train in case of a confirmed ticket. In the case of waitlisted/RAC ticket, you have to collect it before 30 minutes.

2] Refund will be given to you only at the PRS counter of journey commencing station or nearby satellite PRS counter locations by surrendering the original journey ticket.

3] The amount of the fare will be deducted according to the refund rules.
