Steps to Recover IRCTC Login Password
1] Go to IRCTC
2] Click on the “Forgot Password” link.
3] You will be then redirected to a new page that will ask you to fill in your User ID and Captcha below it and click on “Fetch Details”.
4] You will be taken to a new page that will ask you to confirm your identity either by answering the security question (that you have to select the question and answer while creating the account) OR send an OTP to the mobile number you registered while creating the account.
5] Once you are done with either one of the above, you will be asked to set a new password for the account.
6] Fill up the details along with the new password and click on “Submit”.
7] Your password has now been changed to a new one.

Important Things To Remember
1] IRCTC does not send a link to your e-mail to change passwords (like the other do).
2] Therefore, if you forgot both your username and passwords, then just check once in your mailbox if IRCTC has sent you the username of your account when you created it. Take the Username and follow the process to reset the password.
3] If you do not find the Username then you will have to create a new account.
4] Also, a mobile number can only be used once to register an account. The mobile number will not be allowed to change in future or be used to create another account. Therefore, use a permanent mobile number while creating an account on IRCTC.
5] Also use a security question whose answer you will never forget. Because IRCTC will show you the security question that you selected and answered while creating the account in the first place.
